People shouldn’t have to choose between being a burden and living.
I’m Raveen. I bring engineering, design and AI together around one ambition: giving people more room to live.

Where it starts
I come from Sri Lanka. The distance between a promise of healthcare and the care people can actually reach shapes the future I want to build.
I want health to take less of life’s energy. Wider access. Earlier understanding of outcomes. More years of living, and less weight on the people who care for us.
Creating something useful is exciting. Creating functional art that helps humanity is the work I want to spend my life on.
Different disciplines. One direction.
My work crosses medical interfaces, embedded AI, research tools and robotics. Engineering and design are the connecting thread.

Cerulion
2026Robotics software & engineering writing
Robotics makes systems questions tangible. I’m credited on Cerulion’s software and have written about message delivery and ROS 2 communication.
Make the system’s behavior legible.

Simplifine
YC S24Co-founder · AI research workspace
We built Simplifine around the friction of research: scattered tools, sources and analysis. The product brought those parts into one AI-powered workspace.
Build the workflow around the work people need to do.

MorpheusNet
2023Co-author · Embedded AI
A promising model also has to fit the device that runs it. I coauthored research on sleep-stage classification under embedded computing constraints.
Engineering has to work within real constraints.

Changing Care Paradigms
2022Undergraduate thesis · Wharton
The human interface is part of the system. My thesis examined the design of electronic medical records in settings where access and resources shape what is useful.
Design around the person using the system.
Choosing who to build with
The people around a project shape its direction. I want the care I put into choosing collaborators to match the care I put into the work.
Pressure changes how people act. Shared vision matters alongside effort. I want to recognize the right people early and be clear about the direction I am asking them to share.
More room to live.
I want to build a system where people do not have to choose between being a burden and living.
AI interests me as a way to democratize access, make outcomes visible sooner, and reduce the burden on caregivers. The purpose is the life people get to live.
One inspiration is the television drama Pure Genius: engineers, bioengineers and clinicians working together on difficult, personalized care. That meeting of disciplines captures something I want to pursue.

Follow what I build next.
I share the work and the thinking behind it as it happens.
